Feuding Femmes on KSEX

What could be better or more surreal than porn stars interviewing porn stars? It's a particularly beautiful hall of mirrors and KSEX Radio has it in abundance. Tonight the mirror looks at itself when Kylie Ireland has frequent guest Katja Kassin and station newbie Melissa Lauren on her 9:00 pm PST show for some oral sex - in as much as they'll be talking about it, anyway. Online buzz suggests that these two cuties have not always been the best of friends, so the conversation may be lively. The show is live, includes webcams for additional voyeuristic enjoyment, and will replay the following day.

Control Freaks in Atlanta

The Republican and Democratic conventions are over, the election is over, but control issues still exist in America. Fortunately, there's a time and a place for people who like to be in charge and know how to negotiate it. In November, that time will be November 11 through 14 and the place will be the Hilton Atlanta Northeast in Norcross, Georgia. That's when the 2004 DomCon will be held and top dominants, fetish models, webmasters, and kink educators will gather to swap information, stories, and good times. This is the second time that professional and lifestyle dominants have met at a DomCon and Mistress Cyan, its founder, is expecting things to be "even
bigger and better" than the previous convention in Los Angeles. If the party space reserved for the event is any indicator, she's right. A Fetish Photo Extravaganza is scheduled at 1763 on the first night. 1763 is said to be one of the best dungeons in the country and should provide a fantastic backdrop for any who choose to pose for photographers. Among those in attendance will be Brooke Hunter, Rubee Tuesday, Tomiko, and Sasha Monet. More information can be found at www.DomConAtlanta.com.

Yellow Rat Bastard Release Party

The titles of magazines get weirder and weirder as time goes by and Yellow Rat Bastard seems to follow the trend. Of course, the bi-monthly urban chic magazine is actually named after a street-savvy fashion shop in New York City and covers hip-hop culture, underground music and fashion, body art, extreme sports, graffiti, and modern technology. Like so many other urban focused magazines, it also likes porn stars and parties, which explains why Savanna Samson and Tera Patrick will host its release party on November 17. Both babes posed for a pictorial spread and promoted the magazine's current "Duos" issue by revealing what careers they'd have embraced had they not gone into the sex biz. YRB's invite-only party will occur at Club Show, located at 135 West 41st Street beginning at 7:00pm and will include fun Vivid swag like condoms and T-shirts.

We Hate It When Our Ex-Bosses Succeed

Half the excitement of porn is watching its press tear into one another. The latest publishing underwear airing comes as a result of a fluff piece about AVN publisher Paul Fishbein that recently appeared in the November issue of Philadelphia Magazine (http://www.phillymag.com). Writer Richard Rys attempts to tell the story of AVN, the porn industry, and how the two are related - putting special emphasis on Fishbein and his real or imagined responsibility for helping porn and its performers become more acceptable to the mainstream. Given that Fishbein didn't do this single-handedly, others who feel the whole story isn't being told have emerged to fill in the holes
they believe have been left wide open and whistling. Former AVN editors Gene Ross and Tod Hunter (http://www.tod-hunter.net) have plenty of calk to stuff into those gaps and plenty of enthusiasm for doing so (http://www.adultfyi.com/read.aspx?ID=6794). Although Ross is remaining largely silent, he quotes Hunter extensively and predicts that Rys is attempting to find an editorial position at AVN. Hunter's take on the Rys' article is that it's not only "lame and superficial" but also "filled with misleading, carefully selected facts" designed to make Fishbein look better than his detractors believe him to be. Ross further backs up Hunter's claims by observing that none of the interview subjects that he recommended to Rys appeared in his article. Ross speculates that this is because his contacts would have had opinions that wouldn't have promoted Rys' Fishbein positive agenda. Who needs a soap opera when we've got smut journalism?

The Swami Takes on Big Boobs

An online radio program called Body Shots and Money Shots just begs for at least one interview subject with boobs big enough to accommodate both concepts. Thanks to The Swami, it will get that and more on Friday at 10:00 PST on http://www.cyberstationusa.com. The Swami isn't having just one chesty star on his program, he's having three. Escort/feature dancer Diamond Foxxx, popular African-American LA Direct Model Jada Fire, and Anabolic contract director Alexis Amore will converge to talk about their experiences within the industry, motivations for entering it, being "nasty," family reactions to the industry, websites, and future career moves.

Mega Online Porn Rental Merger

Shades of Microsoft's corporate buy-out strategy! Online adult DVD sales/rental site WantedList.com has leveled its corporate playing ground by purchasing competitors FlickSmart.com and RentFlixxx.com. Under the WantedList name, the available inventory will add approximately 3,000 titles to its inventory, bringing the total to 13,000. Additionally, all customers, inventory, marketing deals, and affiliates will be merged to create a mega company poised to dominate the market and potentially even branch out into mainstream titles in an attempt to compete with NetFlix much like small private video stores compete with Blockbuster and Hollywood Video.
