12 Questions from Vanilla DeVille From Vanilladeville.com

1. How long have you been in the adult industry?

Vanilla: I launched my personal website back in 1999, though I debated on having a website for almost a year beforehand. After several months of having my site live, I left my corporate career, and have never looked back!

2. Can you give our readers a little background about yourself? What did you do before you got in this business?

Vanilla: Before the adult biz, I was a Human Resource Manager for a very large athletic company. I absolutely loved my job, and had no desire to leave my career. My original plan was like most people… move up in the company, work the typical 60 plus hours a week and be a slave to a desk. lol Once I started my site, I only took about six months before I began to burn myself out doing both. I would come home during my lunch hour and do updates or a cam show, etc. I knew it was time to leave something and it was a really a no-brainer for me.

3. How did your previous job/profession help you in what you do today?

Vanilla: Well, being that I was in Human Resources, I guess you could say maybe the customer service? LOL I managed the company's 401 (k) accounts, so I didn't have a lot of interaction with the personnel. I guess it was just in my blood to do this. ;)

4. What is your daily routine - of and with the maintenance of your website?

Vanilla: Besides running my website, I also run my own affiliate program (http://www.pornmonkeycash.com). So, needless to say, I am a very busy girl. Once I wake up, I check emails and messages while I eat my breakfast, and drink my coffee to wake my ass up. Of course, I am still in my pj's and bunny slippers. :) I work for a bit, then shower and get ready for my day. After errands and all that fun stuff, it's back home to the grindstone again. I work a shit load of hours in a day, but I love it and I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

5. What is the most important thing you have learned over the years in this industry?

Vanilla: I have learned a ton of things in this industry, and I think the most important thing is to be myself. I have seen so many people come and go and I think a lot of it is that they had no idea what they were getting into or how to handle things correctly. Having a corporate background has helped me a lot, because I know how to be myself in every situation.

6. Can you tell us about your website – what it is and what it offers?

Vanilla: Besides my weekly live shows, I update my site a few times a week, alternating between videos, photos, cam captures, bonus porn, etc. I do a lot of member requests in my shoots, so there is always something new and original! As a member of my website, you get enough “entertainment” material for a lifetime. My site has over five years worth of exclusive content, and with constant updates, there is always something new to see. 7. What is your favorite part about working in this business?

Vanilla: I would have to say the people that I have worked with in this business are the most laid back and coolest bunch of people that I have ever met. Which of course, makes it much more fun to do my job. The conferences are a blast and let me tell you something... being from a corporate background, I have been to human resource conferences and they are nothing like the ones that we attend. Without all these great peeps, this business would not be as nearly as much fun.

8. What is your least favorite part about working in this business?

Vanilla: I can't really say that I have a "least favorite" part in this business. I truly enjoy every aspect of it. From getting all prettied up and shooting glamour shots and cam shows, to sitting behind my pc, working with affiliates, doing updates, emails etc. I LOVE everything about it.

9. If you were starting all over today, would you do anything differently? And if so what would that be?

Vanilla: That's a pretty tough question actually, especially since I have been around since 1999. I am sure that a lot of you know that many things have changed since then. I am very pleased how everything has turned out, and I don't think I would change much of anything. However, if I had to say something, I would say that I wish I would have started my affiliate program sooner. Either way, PornMonkey Cash has taken off and kicking some serious ass - so I have no complaints.

10. What piece of advice would you give yourself if you were just starting out in this industry?

Vanilla: Hmmm... Advice for myself? Well, since I barely listen to Stewie, I am not sure what advice I would even think about giving myself. lol Honestly, I have no idea... that's a good question. However, if I were to give someone else advise about getting into this biz, I would have to say that if they put their heart and soul into it and don't expect a million dollars their first paycheck, they will be ok!! Just don't expect everything to be handed to you... you have to work for it. ;)

11. What are three things would you like to see changed (be it positive or negative) in this industry, tomorrow, a week from now, or a year down the road?

Vanilla: Hmmm... looking at the adult industry, and being around since 1999, I would have to say that a lot has changed already. I expect a lot more to change in the future as well. However, I cannot give you a list of three things... I honestly feel that all things happen for a reason and don't look at things as being positive or negative.

12. Any new projects in the near future you would like to share with our readers?

Vanilla: As far as my website, it's ever-changing. I am updating and upgrading my site continuously, so you need to check it out often to see what's new. ;) PornMonkey Cash on the other hand has a LOT going on right now, and you will definitely see a bunch of new things very soon. We are adding new sites and improvements that will be announced shortly! :)
