12 Questions from Marker & Kezza at Premium Sex Links

1. How long have you been in the adult industry?

Marker & Kezza: Marker and I have been in the adult industry for just over 4 years

2. Can you give our readers a little background about yourself. What did you do before you got in this business?

Marker & Kezza: Mark was a self employed truck driver and I worked in administration in the tertiary education system working with student medical doctors

3. How did your previous job/profession help you in what you do today?

Marker & Kezza: Mark being self employed has given us the background knowledge to be disciplined with our accounts and record keeping and my history working with students has allowed me to network well with other webmasters. Neither of us had any experience with anything "adult" but our personal love of computers has certainly helped us make a transition into a web design and marketing world.

4. What is your daily routine - of and with the maintenance of your website?

Marker & Kezza: Daily routines??? We only dream of having a routine! The day to day maintenance that we have to do is validate the submissions to the link lists, keep up to date with our banking and records... but other than that we both tend to go with the flow of what is happening at the moment... or catching our interest at the moment. I try and build and submit at least one free site a week... and Mark has been working with other webmaster assisting developing their scripts for link lists. This has now led Mark further into the mainstream world where he now does contract work for Gossamer threads and helps people out with LinksSQL and other cgi based scripts.

5. What is the most important thing you have learned over the years in this industry?

Marker & Kezza: This is actually a hard question because we have learned so many things. I suppose the main thing I have learned is that networking is a major component of being successful in this industry. The sharing of ideas and helping each other is a two way street and certainly "what goes around comes around" so it doesn't take long to help someone else out, and eventually that good karma will pay off for you in some other way.

6. Can you tell us about your website – what it is and what it offers?

Marker & Kezza: Our main websites are Link Lists... we started out initially with Premium Sex Links. This was our first ever site and certainly looking back was the totally wrong place to start. We had no idea what we were doing and simply put up the site with links to sponsors on it, then we were very surprised when none of the other link lists would list us LOL. But we took a step back and joined a few boards and read and listened and learned heaps! Now Premium Sex Links is a very active link list that offers surfers free sites and pic and movie galleries.

Our other major site is Link Fabulous. This is where we actually learned what a good free site is all about, having been the reviewers there for a couple of years before the previous owner decided to get out of the business for health reasons and we took over the site a couple of years ago. This site offers surfers links to free sites only, and we are quite particular about the content that is used. Link Fabulous has never listed sponsor content, and offers surfers a look at some of the more bizarre niches that are out there with information pages and sexual advice. Its very groovy!

7. What is your favorite part about working in this business?

Marker & Kezza: Easy! Working our own hours and not being tied down the the drudgery of an 8:30 to 6:00 job. It means we have a life style that allows us to spend so much more quality time with our kids!

8. If you were starting all over today, would you do anything differently? And if so what would that be?

Marker & Kezza: If we started over from scratch again... We would start by making free sites and galleries. I think they make you hone in on what good marketing really is... and how to actually "sell" a sponsor site through talking to your surfers and convincing them why they NEED to join a particular site.

9. What are three things would you like to see changed (be it positive or negative) in this industry, tomorrow, a week from now, or a year down the road?

Marker & Kezza: I would like to see it more difficult for spamming webmasters to receive such high listing in the search engines... I am not sure how that can be achieved but it makes it so difficult for honest webmasters to achieve the results they deserve when cheaters are stealing their pages for search engine spamming.

I would love to see all sponsors pay via ePassport!!!

10. What piece of advice would you give yourself if you were just starting out in this industry?

Marker & Kezza: Listen carefully to the advice of others. And definitely keep at it and don't quit. We all hit obstacles and walls but keep working through the hard times. I think the worst thing I have done in the past is to be really inspired when the sales are flowing... but then get down and work less when the sales slow down... but the reality is we need to work harder in the slow times and not let it get you down.

11. Any new projects in the near future you would like to share with our readers?

Marker & Kezza: I have been working pretty hard at BetaBrigade, so that is consuming my building time at the moment. Mark is working on a few ideas... but no announcements yet!

12. What is your number one secret for success?

Marker & Kezza: Keeping my secrets to myself :D That and hard work!
